Product Description

Mitsui O.S.K. Lines - A fold-out (18" by 19") deck plan for the SAKURA MARU. Although undated, it is from the mid-1960s.

Four decks are shown in color-coded detail covering both Cabin and Economy classes. Besides a large portrait at sea, b&w photos show the Marine Verandah, Library, Cocktail Lounge, the Cabin Class Foyer, a suite day room, and a Cabin Class stateroom.

The ship initially sailed for the Japan Industry Floating Fair Association as a port-to-port trade show. Soon Mitsui O.S.K. leased her and upgraded passenger accommodations for service between Asia and the West Coast of the U.S. In 1971 she moved out of the fleet and by the 1980s she was sailing for the Chinese as ZHI LUO LAN.
