American Mail Line: Two rare and deluxe souvenirs from a special 1935 voyage on the PRESIDENT GRANT that carried an American congressional delegation to the Philippines for the inauguration of its president.

Souvenir #1 is a twelve-page pax list with special silver foil covers embossed with the Seal of the United States of America. Printed on front is "The Congressional Party to the Philippine Commonwealth Government Inauguration at Manila, Philippine Islands, November Fifteenth, Nineteen Thirty-Five."

The passenger list is headlined by U.S. Vice President John Garner and Mrs. Garner, followed by ninety-four congressmen and their spouses. Also included are about fifty additional passengers.

Souvenir #2 is a special Captain's Dinner "menu". The covers are a textured thick stock with gold lettering. Apparently holding a menu was not the intent of this souvenir.
