Hamburg American Line - A large (30" by 34") tissue deck plan of the KAISERIN AUGUSTE VICTORIA, the largest ship in the world at the time of 1906 maiden voyage.

This plan is dated 1909 and shows seven decks covering First, Second, and Third. Those classes add up to around 1,000 passengers. Not shown are the 1,800 souls jammed down in Steerage.

The KAISERIN was also one of the most luxurious ships of the era. At the front of Kaiser Deck is the innovative Ritz-Carlton Restaurant, an a la carte treat that boosted the best cuisine on the high seas. The Auguste Victoria Deck holds nothing but Imperial Suites, a term generously used to describe cabins with privates facilities.
