Afterwards Matson rehabbed the liner but only operated her for two years before selling her to Home Lines. The First Class promenades and all those Lanai Suites from 1937 were filled in and divided into smaller immigrant cabins. She sailed as the ATLANTIC and then went to National Hellenic to became QUEEN FREDERICA. After being lay-up throughout most of the 1970s, the ex-MALOLO was swept by fire in 1977 and gutted.
