Home Lines -  A beautiful prestige brochure printed in 1950 or '51 to promote Home Line's new North Atlantic service.  

The ships are ATLANTIC (built in 1927 as Matson's MALOLO) and ITALIA (formerly Swedish American Line's KUNGHOLM of 1929).  What a handsome pair!  Each ship gets sixteen pages of photos and color drawings of interiors, and each section begins with a fold-out page with deck plans and a portrait.  

The paper feels silky to the touch and the illustrations, in a dramatic style similar to pre-war Italian brochures, show-off suave couples enjoying shipboard life to the fullest. The artist is famed Italian maritime illustrator Attilio Storace  It is his drawings that make this brochure stand out.  At the end of each section are two pages of photos showing public rooms and cabins from both Cabin and Tourist classes.  The last few pages show scenes of the Mediterranean.  

By 1952 both ships were reassigned to slightly different routes.
