They built the combo liners PRINSES IRENE and PRINSES MARGRIET for this odd-ball service. To the surprise of few, transatlantic service to Duluth did not catch on and within a few years Oranje Line dropped it. Holland America took over the PRINSES MARGRIET and used it for a short time in New York service and cruising.
