The content is the same.

The Beken family of Cowes, England, first started photographing ocean liners in 1888. This fantastic compendium of 150 photos show why Beken of Cowes became one of the foremost marine photographers - excellent lighting, crisp images, lots of visible details. It wasn't easy. In the early days with glass slides the photographer had only one chance to get the picture. Reloading glass slides was so cumbersome that the vessel would be long gone before the camera was ready. Also, the weather didn't always cooperate. Founder Frank Beken once said that his 1916 BRITANNIC photo was not up to snuff due to a storm, but he took the photo anyway since he was not sure when the TITANIC sister would return to Southampton. She never did. A mine dispatched the ship to the bottom of the Mediterranean.

The portraits are arranged alphabetically from ALBERT BALLIN to WINDSOR CASTLE. The oldest photo I can find is for the FURST BISMARCK and dated 1899. The newest is for the MONARCH OF THE SEAS, taken in 1991. Each image fills a page and is matched with a page of ship history.
