The notes indicate the CALGARIC had unusually large outdoor deck space, and you can see it here. Besides the open Boat Deck and the wide passages on the Promenade Deck, there is a large outdoor area towards the stern on A Deck. A swimming pool is indicated in this space, which surely must have been one of those canvas contraptions. But there is also an airy Palm Cafe which looks like a wonderful spot to enjoy a cocktail at sunset.  \u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eShips like the CALGARIC were a dime-a-dozen when the Depression hit.
