With its lovely trio of liners (CALIFORNIA, VIRGINIA, and PENNSYLVANIA) taken away due faltering business, corporate owner International Mercantile Marine shut down another subsidiary, Baltimore Mail Line, and transferred their five combo liners to Panama Pacific.

This brochure puts on a cheery face to promote their replacement fleet - CITY OF LOS ANGELES, CITY OF SAN FRANCISCO, CITY OF NORFOLK, CITY OF BALTIMORE, and CITY OF NEWPORT NEWS. For some odd reason the cast-off Matson liner MAUI of 1917 is included even though she only carried twelve.
