Also included is a Luncheon menu from 25 October 1974.\u003cbr data-mce-fragment=\"1\"\u003e\u003cbr data-mce-fragment=\"1\"\u003eAt age nine the PENDENNIS CASTLE set a new speed record from Cape Town to Southampton in 1968. But a few years later the oil crisis hit and Union-Castle slowed the ship down, adding a day to her voyage. The times were changing and the ship was withdrawn in 1976. As shown on this souvenir, PENDENNIS CASTLE arrived in Southampton on June 14, 1976, and was laid up. She was sold to become a Hong Kong cruise ship, but that never happened.
