During the fire, these windows exploded, startling passengers being lowered in lifeboats and opening up the hull to the sea when the ship began to list. A photo of the Night Club shows the area when passengers fled when the Main Lounge, also shown, filled with smoke. Views of the Swimming Pool and Sports Deck show where passengers had to wait, gazing up at the Northern Lights, when the interior was no longer safe. At top is the PRINSENDAM herself.
