There is no medallion case. \u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eThe medallion is signed by Lucien Bazor, a French artist known for his medals. From 1930 to 1958 he worked for the Paris Mint as chief engraver for coins. \u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eSadly, the ship did not enjoy as successful a career as the artist. On January 4, 1933, while sailing without passengers from Bordeaux to Le Havre, a fire broke out in a passenger cabin. Within four hours L'ATLANTIQUE was engulfed in flames and the crew had to abandon ship. The burning hulk drifted for two days in the English Channel before being towed to Cherbourg.
