Her maiden voyage in April of 1957 was just in time to see the jet introduced for passenger service. CP was especially hard-hit and sold off the first of the sisters in 1964. The EMPRESS OF ENGLAND was the next to go in 1970 to become Shaw Savill's OCEAN MONARCH. The ship was not much for a success in that role either and ended her career at the scrappers in 1975 at the relatively young age of 18.
