Lloyd Brasileiro: A fold-out (16" by 16") deck plan brochure for the PRINCESA LEOPOLDINA's 1967 Caribbean cruise serviced from Miami. Commodore Cruise Line operated the cruises of this small Brazilian ship.

Inside there are plans of four decks, a portrait, rates, and itineraries. My family has a connection to this ship.

My diplomat dad was stationed in Rio de Janeiro in the 1960s. In 1968 my parents packed me off to a Brazilian summer camp for a miserable month and then took an unannounced cruise on the PRINCESA LEOPOLDINA. I wrote letters home begging for them to come get me; they ended up drifting the Atlantic for several days when the power died. Neither of us ever wanted to repeat the experience.

In 1970 Lloyd Brasileiro sold the ship to China Navigation. She became the CORAL PRINCESS and sailed on gambling cruise in the Orient until being scrapped in 2001.
