Los Angeles Steamship Company: From the late 1920s, a fold-out (9" by 24") brochure for the Pacific coastal service of the speedy YALE and HARVARD.

The ships were built in 1907 for Boston-New York service, but by 1910 were sailing between Los Angeles and San Francisco. The liners zipped along at a speedy 23 knots, connecting the two ports in just eighteen hours.

"Boarding either S.S. YALE or S.S. HARVARD," notes the brochure, "a passenger finds himself on a great liner replete with all the conveniences and luxuries of the finest hotels ashore."

Photos, unidentified as to vessel, show the Dining Saloon, Observation Lounge, Veranda Cafe Ballroom, a sitting room of a suite, a bedroom of a suite, and a standard stateroom A starboard profile of the HARVARD shows off classic early-20th century coastal steamer lines.
