Dominion Line: A lovely relic from a long-ago era - a late 19th or early 20th century rose-colored wine glass from the from the Dominion Line.

The company's houseflag is frosted on one side along the line name in a flowing banner beneath. The 4.75" tall stemmed glass has a diameter of 2.25".

The Dominion Line operated ships from Liverpool to North America and was bought by International Mercantile Marine in 1902. It's largest passenger ship, COLUMBUS, operated just two voyages in 1903 before being transferred to White Star and renamed REPUBLIC.

You may recall that when the REPUBLIC was rammed in 1909 just off Martha's Vineyard, she became the first ship to send off distress signals using that new-fangled contraption, the wireless.
