Product Description

Eastern Steamship Lines: Time was, a newly minted officer could walk into any portside tailor shop and order a uniform, complete with brass buttons showing the company houseflag and name. Tailors kept hundreds of ship buttons in the dusty reaches of back rooms. Here is a set of 3 unused officer's buttons from just such a tailor shop.

The 7/8" diameter tunic button with two 1/2" diameter cuff buttons are all back marked "Superior Quality".  These buttons are probably from the 1920s or 30s when Eastern Steamship sailed on New York to New England and Canadian Maritimes routes.

They show a little tarnish but otherwise are in good condition.
