Like other deluxe Dollar brochures from the 1930s, the graphics are outstanding.

No wonder, as the brochure was designed by prolific San Francisco illustrator Ray Bethers (1902-1973) whose travel posters today command high prices. Bethers was also known for his engraving and almost every page features stylized vignettes of exotic scenes. On the title page, a commanding PRESIDENT HOOVER is steaming past Chinese junks. In the Panama section, a Dollar liner is visible sailing through the jungle. Bordering the Japan page is an engraving of shines and arch bridges reminiscent of Blue Willow china.
