Allan Line - From early in the steamship era, a 2.5" by 4.25" trade card featuring a stormy ship portrait on front and deck plans of the SCANDINAVIAN on back.

This card was how most deck plans were presented in the mid-19th century. The SCANDINAVIAN carried 100 passengers in First Cabin, shown here, and 350 down in Third, not shown.

The creature comforts were few. There is a large Saloon with banquets curving around the stern and two long dining table in the center, a small Ladies Cabin, cramped cabins for two, and several water closets.

The dramatic ship portrait on front shows a ship with a bow sprint which according to Duncan Haws was not fitted on the SCANDINAVIAN. It appears to be another Allan Line vessel of the era such as the CIRCASSIAN or SARMATIAN.

The SCANDINAVIAN apparently sailed without incident for almost thirty years. She went to the breakers in 1899.
