As an Allied-operated troopship after WW2, the deteriorated ship repeatedly caught fire. And then in 1946 she broke loose in Le Havre during a storm and holed herself upon the wreckage of the sunken PARIS. \u003cbr data-mce-fragment=\"1\"\u003e\u003cbr data-mce-fragment=\"1\"\u003eBut the 1950s were good years for the LIBERTE when she operated as the flagship of the French Line.
