Of note are the two "Imperial Suites" on Upper Promenade Deck. Both consisted of three rooms plus a large bathroom with tub. The major First Cabin public rooms were just steps away. Forward was a Library overlooking the bow while aft were elegant Drawing and Smoking rooms. Up on Bridge Deck there were separate Ladies and Gentlemen cafes plus the officers' quarters and the Wireless Station.

Second Cabin was jammed into its traditional spot on the stern. Pity the poor occupants of Lower Deck. The Barber Shop was there but to use the loo they had to march up two decks to large bathrooms hoovering over the stern.

Like so many Germany liners, the KAISER WILHELM II was interned at New York and then seized when the U.S. entered the war. She was used for trooping duties and then laid up in 1919.
