HABANA: 1923 - Deck plan w/ glued on name

Product Description

Compania Trasatlantica Espanola (Spanish Line) - A fold-out (21" by 23") deck plan for the HABANA. Although undated, it was printed during the 1920s or early 1930s.

First off, notice that HABANA is glued on top of another name. Underneath is ALFONSO XIII, named for the King of Spain upon the ship's launch in the early 1920s. But with the coming of the Second Republic in 1931, the king was deposed and the ship renamed.

Although a smallish 10,000 GRT, the HABANA packed in four classes. Of course you or I would have been booked into First Class shown in yellow, probably in one of the two large suites on Promenade Deck. From there it would be easy to make a grand entrance into the soaring Moorish Hall and Music Room towards the bow, or Smoking Room and Verandah towards the stern.

The HABANA sailed up into the 1960s, finishing off her years as a fish processing ship.
