Although undated, it is from around the boat's introduction in 1925.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eInside is an artist's rendering of the \"Leviathan of the Lakes\", giving the impression that the boat stretched on forever.  Actually, it did.  At 536 feet long, she and sister GREATER DETROIT were the biggest side-wheel steamers ever built.  Everything had to be big as the GREATER BUFFALO had 650 cabins and could carry 2,100 passengers plus 100 automobiles.  Large murals graced the stairways.  Parlors de Luxe were fitted with private balconies and electric lights plated in silver and gold.  The dining room could seat 375 people and served fish caught deep in the Great Lakes.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eBesides the portrait, large photos show the Promenade Deck, Hurricane Deck, Main Saloon and Staircase, Main Forward Staircase with a portrait of Niagara Falls, Lounge Room, Dining Room, Bed Room Suite, Forward Deck showing the Bridge forty-feet above, Boat Deck, Smoke Stacks and Pilot House, Bridge and Pilot House, two views of the Engine Room, and the Freight Deck.  Printed in color on the back cover is D\u0026amp;C's fanciful bullfrog logo.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eAfter Pearl Harbor, the U.S. was short on aircraft carriers so the military requisitioned any large ship they could find.  The superstructure on the GREATER BUFFALO was sheared off and a steel flight deck bolted on.  Thousands of pilots trained on the decks during WW2, including a future president of the U.S., George H.
