State University of New York Maritime College - A souvenir color portrait of the EMPIRE STATE V, former training ship for SUNY Maritime.

The 8" by 11" portrait is mounted on hardboard with a hanger on back.

The ship and her two sisters were to become American President Lines' newest combo liners in 1950. But the Korean War intervened and the Navy took over what was going to become the PRESIDENT JACKSON.

Afterwards the ship and sisters were laid up until being reactivated as maritime school training vessels. EMPIRE STATE V served the school from 1973 to 1990 before hitting lay-up again. She went to the breakers in 2007.
