Compagnie Maritime des Chargeurs Reunis – A deluxe, twenty-eight page intro brochure from March 1950 for the CLAUDE BERNARD, the second of four post-war combo liners built by the company for the Le Havre- Buenos Aires route. 

In typical French fashion, the brochure has finely textured covers embossed with the ship and line name in gold along with a portrait of Bernard, one of the great figures in 19th century science,  The first chapter is about the man.  The rest is about the ship, delightfully illustrated in color and black & white by Albert Brenet.  I’m sure the text is equally as delightful, but it is in French.
