Various Ships - 1956 American President Lines "Cargoliner Cruises"

Product Description

American President Lines:  A fold-out (27" by 33") brochure from 1956 featuring deck plans and interior photos of the APL freighter fleet.  The ships sailed to the Far East and around the world, making for a very leisurely cruise for those with plenty of time.

Portraits and plans show three different classes.  The four new Mariners were given top billing.  Interior views in b&w include the Dining Room, Main Lounge, Observation Lounge, and a "typical" stateroom.

The C-3 Class of nine ships showed three photos - Dining Room, Lounge and a "typical" stateroom.

The six-strong Victory Class did not warrant any photos.  They carried only two cabins on the stern.  This note was included: "Because of the necessity of over-deck passage from passenger quarters to the main deck house during occasional adverse weather conditions, women and children are not carried on Victory Class Cargoliners."

Unidentified photos show more scenes of public rooms and decks populated by a mostly older crowd.  I think I see Fred and Ethel Mertz in there.
